The Macular Degeneration Association (MDA) is excited and proud to announce our new partnership with Hadley, an organization dedicated to helping people with vision loss live more independently and confidently.

Founded in 1920 by William Hadley, an educator who lost his eyesight later in life, Hadley provides practical help, connection, and support—no cost—to individuals with visual impairments, their families, and the professionals who support them.

Through Hadley, individuals can discover new ways to accomplish everyday activities that may have become more challenging due to vision loss and connect with a supportive community of peers who truly understand what they are experiencing. Hadley brings its resources directly to you through online programs, telephone support, and the mail, making assistance accessible wherever you are.

About the Macular Degeneration Association

The Macular Degeneration Association (MDA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by macular degeneration and other vision-related diseases. Our mission is centered on funding research, patient education, empowerment, support, and advancing research.

We believe Knowledge is Power! Through our educational programs, videos, and resources, MDA provides patients, caregivers, and families with current, understandable information to help them make informed decisions about their eye health and vision care.

MDA offers a variety of resources and programs, including:

Free educational programs featuring leading eye-care professionals and researchers

Matters of Vision! educational programs held in communities across the country

Virtual educational programs and webinars

Educational videos and recordings covering macular degeneration, treatments, research, and other eye-health topics

Newsletters and educational publications with current information about vision health and research

Patient and caregiver resources to help individuals better understand and navigate vision loss

Information about clinical trials and emerging treatments

Research funding to support innovative research focused on macular degeneration and vision diseases

Resources and referrals to organizations that provide additional services, education, and support

Expanding Resources and Support Through Our Partnership

The MDA has established a referral partnership with Hadley to connect our patients, caregivers, and families with additional resources, practical tools, and support. This collaboration expands the assistance available to individuals living with vision loss.

Through MDA and Hadley, individuals can access valuable information through newsletters, educational videos, online discussions, virtual programs, and in-person meetings, providing more opportunities to learn, connect, and receive meaningful support.

We are incredibly excited about this partnership and the possibilities it creates for the vision-loss community. By combining MDA’s commitment to education, research, patient empowerment, and support with Hadley’s practical resources and peer connection, we can help individuals and families access the knowledge and tools they need to navigate vision loss with greater confidence and independence.

The Macular Degeneration Association believes that Knowledge is Power—and together with Hadley, we are proud to provide even more opportunities for individuals affected by vision loss to learn, connect, and live fuller, more independent lives.
